Ramayana Trails

Sri Lanka’s connection to India runs deep and takes route in the legend of the great King of Lanka – Ravana. These legends pre-date the written and recorded history of our island that starts with the arrival of an Indian prince named Vijaya in 500 B.C.

The history that pre-dates prince Vijaya is captured in the great Indian texts of Mahabarath and the Ramayana. The ‘Trails of Ramayanaya’ is a tribute to the close link between Indian and Sri Lanka and how the religious and cultural influences have shaped our beliefs and traditions. The Ramayana Trails package we have designed for you will take you through some dramatic history and places of worship that are sacred to both the Hindus and the Buddhists of Sri Lanka.
